About Dr. Allison Devers

Dr. Allison Devers has always been drawn to healing work.

Dr Devers was initially inspired to pursue medicine to work with underserved communities. After her training she practiced in a variety of settings, including urban community health centers, with incarcerated persons, and in rural Alaska, where she worked as a hospitalist and delivered babies. Then in 2013 she had a life-threatening medical condition, and two months after surviving this she developed profound fatigue, which persisted for years. She found that all of her medical knowledge, and the conventional medical world, offered little to help her.

Realizing how poorly understood fatigue symptoms and etiologies are in the conventional medical model, she continued to search for answers in alternative health modalities. It was through this search, and extensive training, that she was able to find solutions - achieving improved energy and overall wellness for herself. She now brings this expertise and deeply felt understanding to her patients.

Her treatment approach combines evidence-based functional medicine and mind-body practices. Functional medicine treats the upstream causes of chronic conditions such as gut dysfunction, inflammation, and support for the mitochondria - the energy generators of the cell. Dr Devers also finds that addressing the under-appreciated aspects of chronic illness in the unconscious is really the key to deep and total healing and that adding this dimension takes health and wellbeing to the next level.

She has a passion for teaching others how to access and work with their own unconscious, to gain clarity and to dissolve barriers to living their most fulfilling lives. She teaches workshops and retreats and writes about accessing the unconscious.

Dr Devers' Life Fire Program to treat chronic low energy/fatigue integrates her life-long training and the evolution of her ongoing practice with her interest in seeking solutions for conditions not recognized nor well understood by mainstream medicine.

Dr Devers received her MD from the University of Vermont College of Medicine. She completed residency in Family Medicine at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. She is board certified in both Family Medicine and Integrative Holistic Medicine. She has completed the Functional Medicine training program of the Institute for Functional Medicine. She has trained both in Integrative Hypnotherapy and Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy. Additionally she has trained through the Center for Mind-Body Medicine, in Medical Acupuncture, EFT, and Psych K.

Values and philosophy of practice

• health as optimal health and vitality, not just the absence of disease
• recognizing that each person is unique
• patient care is a partnership
• the provider helps the patient to invoke their own innate healing ability
• illness is viewed as a dysfunction of the whole person – body, mind and spirit
• integration of the best practices from a combination of healing systems
• the provider “walks the talk” and teaches by example
